Lart Stein is a wiry, inventive kid with straw-blonde hair and a mischievous grin, equal parts dreamer and survivor. Growing up in a broken trailer park family, he learned early how to make something out of nothing—turning scraps of wire, tin, and rusted machines into creations that felt alive. Where others saw trash, Lart saw possibility, and his curious mind often pushed him into trouble, especially with his older sister Carline, his fiery older sister.

Though scarred by his father’s cruelty and Carline’s intensity, Lart holds on to a belief in building rather than breaking, creating rather than destroying. His bond with animals and his strange genius for engineering give him a quiet sense of purpose in a world that often feels too cruel for someone like him.

Still, Lart is no saint. He laughs when he shouldn’t, experiments without always thinking of the consequences, and wrestles with a dangerous streak inherited from his father. But underneath all that, he is a boy who wants to protect, to fix, and to give life back to the forgotten.
